A screenshot of next summer's big and goofy Cowboys and Aliens has been released.
In it, Daniel Craig prepares to fire some sort of alien doodad that looks like the pistol version of the weapon in Laserblast. No word on whether Craig's character also has to wear a special hippy necklace to activate the weapon, or if he's getting revenge on the bigger kids in town for all of their mean bullying. Cowboys and Aliens is planned to arrive in summer theaters in July of 2011. Iron Man director Jon Favreau is behind the film, and the cast includes a host of other well known names such as Sam Rockwell, Harrison Ford, Noah Ringer, Olivia Wilde, and of course Daniel Craig. Hollywood has a lot of power behind this film, and there is no doubt it is hoped to be one of the big blockbusters of the year.
The film is set in 1873, and revolves around a small desert town suffering nightly raids from space faring aliens. Daniel Craig plays Zeke Johnson, who rallies a large posse together, including townsfolk, outlaws, and a few Apache warriors, and leads them on a strike against the invaders in hopes of driving them back into the skies.
